Valentines Day was yesterday. More than likely your significant other expected flowers and a nice dinner out. What if you change things up in the coming year. Therefore, what if you decided to make it a YEAR of romance and not a single day of romance? How will this improve my relationship and how my partner views me?

Too often in our practice we hear our patients lament that if they don’t get their perfomance issues resolved it’s going to end their marriage. We often hear men complain about their partners waning libido. Perhaps a big part of this issue has to do with our partners feeling appreciated and knowing that we care. I want to improve my relationship. I was romantic when I dated my wife.

Total Performance wants to help. In the coming months in our Blog and on our Total Performance Facebook Page we are going to to provide some daily inspiration to help you be more romantic. If you Like our facebook page your receive the updates automatically.

As you think of your own ideas or use some of our ideas as inspiration. Keep these 5 things in mind.

  1. Surprise
Surprise is absolutely essential. If you come across as boring and predictable (ie: Valentines Day) then you aren’t going to be romantic. If you keep your partner on their toes with your gestures then your relationship will flourish.
  2. Thought
It is truly the thought that counts. If your gestures take time, energy and effort then you’re on to something good.
  3. Calibration
Your romantic gesture needs to be calibrated to your partner. Don’t do something your buddy told you about but doesn’t match your partner. Take time to think about what makes your partner feel loved and appreciated.
  4. Self initiated
A gesture on Valentines Day or a Birthday can have a positive effect but if you choose the timing it will have a more powerful romantic effect. Sending her flowers, just because.
  5. Simplicity
Shave off as many layers of complexity as possible for your romantic gesture. You don’t need to spend a lot of money for your gesture to speak volumes.
